Our Work
Drupal Web Development
In order to capitalize on its rapid growth, the Lunch Ann Arbor Marketing group needed a central online source of information. I developed a Drupal-based site to organize event information and allow the group to expand beyond the Ann Arbor region with iTunes podcasts and online video. Now LA2M volunteers can easily add and edit information and site content without the need for specialized technical skills.
iPhone Application Development
To fill the need for a fast, complete Amazon search tool, Samutech developed PocketShop and gave it away for free in the iTunes App Store. PocketShop was a native iPhone app, which, in addition to the basic search and display of products from the Amazon catalog, featured an in-app shopping cart and email integration. PocketShop's superior search results were achieved by creating an intermediary web service that sat between the iPhone app and Amazon's Affiliate Web Services API. This web service expanded Amazon's initial results to ensure a complete record of various book editions.
Inventory and Shipping Workflow Software
The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Michigan needed a way to easily and accurately inventory and assign pedometers to study participants. I developed a custom desktop application that interfaced both with the pedometer's USB connection and the department's back-end databases. The software streamlined not only inventory and assignment, but also automated the completing and printing of patient forms and generated associated FedEx shipping requests and documents.
Interactive Data Visualization
The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Michigan wanted to encourage participation its fitness walking program with an engaging data-rich web site. I developed a set of interactive graphs, using Adobe Flex, allowing participants to view their program progress and a fun fish tank visualization for comparing individual's success with one another.
